Kate and Rich

This past weekend we had the pleasure of coordinating Kate and Rich’s beautiful wedding ceremony and reception.  The day was filled with sunshine and lots of laughter.  Below are a few snapshots I was able to get with my phone.  Thanks to the fabulous vendors who were on board:

Drumore Estate – I can not say enough wonderful things about Karyn and her venue and most fabulous staff.  They went above and beyond and were so pleasant and accommodating.  I would recommend this venue to anyone.  Oh and the food was so yummy!

Special Occasions – For once again, the most glamorous outfit of the night, next to the brides that is…the dressed tables!

Top Hat Dj -This was the first time I got to work with Rog from Top Hat and I was so glad I got that chance.  He was professional, fun, played great music, and had the dance floor rocking all night!

Designs by Renee – Beautiful Seating chart

Rosie’s Creative Cakes – I think I got to eat Rosie’s cakes every weekend in June!! So yummy.

Sandra L. Porterfield Designs – Again, another first, and so happy to finally meet Sandra!  Her flowers were beautiful and fit the occasion perfectly!

Janet and Jim

Today was Janet and Jim’s wedding and it was Fabulous!  The weather of course was up and down and unpredictable, but held off just at the right times.  They were married in downtown York and then had their reception at the Country Club of York.  I just love the grounds there and think it is so pretty.  Here are some snap shots I was able to take today with my phone.  Janet and Jim were so sweet to work with and I thank them for allowing me to be a part of their special day.

I also have to say, once again, Jim the surprise dedication that was planned for your grandparents was so amazing and heartfelt.  I couldn’t hold back the tears as you spoke the kind words to them and dedicated a song to them.  You are a first class guy and Janet is so lucky to have you!  The best of wishes to the both of you!

Steadman/Smoker Wedding, June 13 2009

Well it is 6:30 a.m. on the morning of Jessie Steadman and Doug Smoker’s wedding. I couldn’t even sleep in this morning with the excitement I have building for this event. It seriously is the feeling a kid gets on Christmas morning.

This wedding is very special to me as the Steadman’s are truly wonderful friends of mine.  Kelly Steadman, owner and floral designer of All Things Beautiful has been the inspiration for the starting of my own business back in 2005! I met her while planning my own wedding, booked her for my florist and from their a friendship formed. She inspired me time and time again with her creativity, talent and passion for this industry to create All Things Beautiful. I honestly would not be where I am today without her.

So when I got the news that her youngest daughter was engaged to be married and it she would be needing my services, I jumped on board with open arms! I knew from the start this would be different than any other wedding. Having a mother who is in the industry and could do the flowers, we were definitely in for a treat!

Yesterday, Marah and I arrived at the Smoker Residence to help with set-up and direct the rehearsal. Jessie and Doug are getting married at Doug’s home which is stunningly beautiful and sits on over 50 acres! First up was to stop at Special Occasions and pick up the bride and groom’s chavari chairs and chair covers as well as all their runners and toppers. Upon arrival we greeted Kelly and her team, and got a little distracted by watching them make all the floral arrangements and noticing how many flowers were in the refrigerated truck!

After googling over all of the flowers we hopped on the golf cart and made our way through the different locatons for the event.  First stop was to meet Keith from Shumaker PDT and talk about lighting and sound!

They had laid all the tables and chairs out and all the lighting was in place at this point!

There will be lighting on the dance floor, spotlighting on the fabulous cake from Rosie’s Creative Cakes and a projected pattern on the top of the tent!

All tables will have beautiful ivory floor length linens from Grand Events then topped with table runners and toppers from Special Occasions .   I can not wait to see the tablescapes of flowers galore on all the guest tables!

Shumaker is coming back today to create a gorgeous grand entrance right here.

Chandelier that is hanging over the bridal party table.  This is actually one the bride picked out from the mother of the groom’s antique shop.

After talking with Keith we then made our way through the cocktail area…there will be 11 cocktail tables that Shumaker will be placing beautiful natural burlap clothes over, so fitting for the location.  Marah and I later went and placed potted ferns at each high top which will also later receive pillar candles.

If you look to the left of the bridge you can see the bare high top tables.  Such a beautiful beautiful setting.

Now on to the ceremony site.

These rows of flowers were planted a couple of months ago to create the aisle that Jessie will walk down.  There were some benches also set out for rehearsal, much more will be there today as 250 guests will be arriving.  The benches were rented from a local camp site.  Today flowers will be hanging from the trees in littlee glass jars and a live harp and yucalali will be playing!

After checking all the sites we then went to place votive candles in all the glass jars hanging in clusters from the trees that will line the path to the ceremony and cocktail hours.  The night ended with a relaxing rehearsal dinner surrounding an inviting pool, good friends and good times!

I absolutely can not wait to post some pictures I get from the event today, and even more so to post pictures that Matthew Tennison captures!

Stay tuned for all the fabulous details!!!!!

Erin and Ryan~June 6 2009

What a wonderful wedding Erin and Ryan had. All week prior to their wedding it rained and rained and rained. On the morning of their wedding it was still pretty cloudy and cool, but just as 1:00 rolled around the sun was out and things were warming up.

The couple got married at Ironville United Methodist Church and held their reception at Casa Di Fiori at Leola Village Inn and Suites .

A few things that made the day interesting:

~Realizing that there were not enough boutineres while prepping for the ceremony. I checked the floral contract and it was stated right there that they were to provide 10, and there were 10 bouts there, however they were missing two grandfathers and a groomsmen. I pulled out my floral tape and wire, snipped some flowers from the pew decor to pull together three extra bouts! No one ever even noticed.

~Taking a shot with the bridal party before sending everyone down the aisle…hmmm I really tried to refuse this one but the bride insisted and she is my boss! Nothing like calming your nerves before sending the bridal party down the aisle! ha :)

~~Scary Moment~~Bridesmaid almost passed out at the alter, the girls on either side of her caught her before she dropped to the ground! She was ok, thank god and was able to walk out to the recessional.

~Dealing with the unprofessional and rude photobooth attendants. Gotta love nasty vendors!

~Realizing right before the guests would hear the blessing that the pastor who was to give it, had not made it to the reception. Made quick arrangements just to have the dj announce that dinner would be served shortly. Boy that would have been embarrassing when they made the announcement for the blessing and there would have been no one to give it!

~One of the best parts of the night was working with Stephanie and Diane from Casa Di Fiori! I absolutely love that venue and they are so accommodating and the very best in the industry to work with! They go above and beyond, oh and the food is to die for :)

Erin and Ryan, you had such a wonderful day and I want to thank you both for allowing me to be a part of it. Congratulations and I wish you only the best!

Here are a few snapshots I was able to get.

Beautiful floral arrangements from Petals and Beans that we then transferred to the reception for the Bridal Party Tables.

~

It was a full house! About 190 guests with 8 attendants on either side.

~

One of the bridal party tables at Casa .

~

Sweetheart Table. I gathered all the single stem flowers from the pew decor and grouped together so that they could have an arrangement on their table.

~

Cake that a family member of the groom had made for them. It was fake, except for the top tier. They served mini cakes to each guests after dinner.

~

Table Numbers the bride made from engagement pictures.

Georgia and T Charlie

~
A Photo from their engagement session by Matthew Tennison.
~
On Saturday May 30 Georgia and T Charlie got married at Lauxmont Farms.  Georgia contacted me last year when first starting to plan their wedding.  It was bittersweet to see this day come as I had been working with them from the beginning.
Marah and I arrived early the day of the wedding to do set up.  We were very excited to begin decorating because all of the stationary designs was by the very best, Renee Connors of Designs by Renee.  Here are some pictures of the decor.

The ceremony was wonderful.  Georgia was such a stunning bride as she walked down the aisle to Ray Charles’, "Georgia."  It was perfect!

Fabulous Wedding Party
~

Adelynn was such a pretty flower girl and she did such a great job!

The reception was filled with very emotional moments and heartfelt speeches.  Overall the reception was a very intimate, romantic, and fabulous night.  Georgia had a hair change for the reception and I loved the new look she had.

Thank you to all the fabulous vendors we worked with to make this wedding a success.
