A Very Special Baby Shower

Last weekend I had the pleasure of hosting, alongside my mother, a baby shower for my sister.  She is due to have a baby girl mid April and we are so excited.  We decided to throw the shower at the new creamery downtown Lancaster, Carmen and David’s Creamery and it was just beautiful!  David, one of the owners was so accommodating and so nice to work with.  They make all their own ice cream on site and it was just so yummy!

Below are a collection of pictures my talented sister (in law), Amanda Kirkham took while at the shower.

Our colors for the shower were mainly Pinks and Yellows with splashes of green and orange.  My sister’s favorite color is yellow and her favorite flower is Gerber daisies.  The flowers were provided to us by the most fabulous and my most dear friend, Kelly Steadman.  Thanks so much Kelly, they were perfect!
Above is one of the invitations that I made for the shower.  A bouquet presented to my sister when she arrived.  A menu card listing all the delicious options for the party and pacifier necklaces I made to give out to each guest.  I made the necklaces for the “Forbidden Word” game.  Any guest who was caught saying names such as baby, cute, etc. got their necklaces taken.  Whoever had the most at the end of the shower was the winner.
The diaper cake I made.  I have so much fun doing these.  We also incorporated this into an easy game…Guess how many diapers in the cake?
Favors for the guests were these cute lolli pops we ordered at Oriental Trading Company.  We had stickers made with a cute message and I added all the yellow bows.

Since the pacifier necklaces that were made from the lifesavers and cotton candy jelly bellys were not edible I decided to put some extra out to take home in pink goody bags.

We had Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwiches, Chinese Pot Stickers w/sauce, hot crab dip, pasta salad and assorted finger wraps!  So good.
She got soooo many gifts!  This is going to be one spoiled little girl :)

Each guest table centerpiece had a glass bowl with a floatingg rubber ducky and two gerber dasies.  The favor table had two stacked bowls you see above.
SURPRISE!

We had Vanilla, Teaberry and Lemon flavored ice cream.  It was so good!
One of the last games we played was “Guess the Girth.”
I love her!

Studio Jenz and Special Occasions

Last week I had the pleasure of stepping inside the new studio of Jenz Yoder !  It was fantastic.  Actually maybe it was more than a week ago (it was two weeks ago).  It was beautifully decorated for valentines day.  Jenz will plan on changing the decor every so often..next is Spring!  We had so much fun there, while planning with my Dec. 31 clients.  Their New Year’s Eve wedding will be absolutely beautiful!  Stay tuned for more details.

The next day we had a meeting with my most favorite place, Special Occasions !  We had fun playing around with a lot of different linen choices.  Here was the favorite.  The colors for this wedding are purple, gold and white.  The wedding will be held at Casa di Fiori on New Year’s Eve!

The guest chairs will all have a purple runner with a white feather coming out the back.

A Girls Lunch!

Photo from Leslie Gilbert

Today I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of friends, good food and of course wedding happenings.  My good friend and colleague, Kelly Steadman of All Things Beautiful hosted a luncheon for some local wedding professionals.

It was really nice to sit down and catch up outside of the wedding setting.

Those in attendance were the gals over at Hamilton Ballroom, Jill and Lindsey .

Best of Weddings

Sorry I have been MIA on the blog scene. 2009 wedding planning is in full force and the Best of Weddings Show is just around the corner.

I wanted to take a moment to let everyone know of some fun additions to the show.

~
So hot in today’s trends is having a spectacular first dance. Now there is nothing wrong with doing your own thing but a choreographed first dance is a show stopper and will really have your guests in awe! Just added to the BOW show, will be live dancers, showcasing that perfect "First Dance." Make sure to check them out in the Heritage Ballroom and look to your programs for scheduled performance times upon your arrival.

Another feature will be reserved seating at the fashion show. Those who pre-register will get a ticket upon arrival. This ticket will allow you to browse all the fabulous ballrooms and lounge areas of the Marriott right up until showtime (2:00 p.m.), where you will then be escorted to your reserved seat. However, those who come without a ticket may have to wait in line to be seated. First come first serve, so go to the website and register now.
