Mr. and Mrs. Scott – 08/30/2008

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Chris Scott. What a wonderful wedding day you had. The ceremony was beautiful, especially with the wonderful live music provided by Gliss & Air. Their Harp and Cello was the perfect touch and it was a real treat to listen to their music during the cocktail hour as well.

The reception started with the grand entrance followed by toasts and dinner. Matthew from Occasions kept the party going all night long.

Chris and Huong: It was a pleasure to meet you both and I look forward to keeping in touch.

Best Wishes!

Rehearsal at the Eden

Hello Everyone! This is me, stuck in traffic, but oh so excited for tonight’s rehearsal. Let the Fall Season begin.

~

~

After having a well needed rest from weddings I got back into the groove of things tonight at Chris and Huong’s rehearsal. Not having an event since the first weekend in August I was itching to get back to work! Bring on the Fall Brides!! I will be going non-stop until my last event of the year in December before we start all over again next April!

Tonight was a wonderful rehearsal. Chris and Huong were so relaxed and their families were a joy to be around. Their wedding day will be beautiful and I can’t wait. They have made it really easy for their guests by having their event all in one location, at the Eden Resort.

I have had the pleasure of working with the Eden many times and their staff has always been more than accommodating. Always willing to go above and beyond.

Pulling into the parking lot in the dreary weather. Inside was warm and inviting as I was greeted by the staff at the Eden .
The Lobby right inside the hotel.

Some chairs lined up for us to practice the ceremony.
The staff getting ready for the rehearsal dinner.  This was so nice for the guests.  After the rehearsal all they had to do was turn around and be seated!  Piece of cake.

We’ll see everyone tomorrow.

Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square

~
~

I told you something big is coming to Lancaster.

I am so thrilled for the opening of this hotel and convention center in March of 2009. This will be the most wonderful place for a downtown chic wedding! It’s new, it’s modern, the options are endless. There are so many beautiful photo opportunities as well.

Sarah Heath, Sales Manager at the Marriott got into her wedding gown and had some fun taking pictures downtown in around around this venue. She is the gal to contact if you are interested in finding out information about holding your next event at Lancaster’s Brand New Marriott. You can contact her here .

Included in some of these photos are the beautiful floral designs, of Kelly Steadman with All Things Beautiful .

A Beautiful Bridal Shower

After only a couple of months of planning my best friend’s bridal shower was held yesterday.

A little background…Kari and Ryan were originally to get married May of 09 at Stonemill Inn in York, Pa. Not long into their planning, Ryan received a letter stating that he has to go back to Iraq. The decision was then made to move the wedding to October of this year and to be held at the Cameron Estate Inn in Mt. Joy. Boy that really got everyone into planning mode. Kari is a teacher, so with the stress of getting ready for school she now has wedding planning to add to her plate. All the while preparing herself to say goodbye to her soon to be husband for a year, a month after they are married.

The shower was absolutely beautiful!!! Kari is a huge coffee lover so of course we decided to go with a coffee theme. The shower was held at the FABULOUS Prince Street Cafe , downtown Lancaster. They rent their facility out on Sundays anytime after 3:00 p.m. The food was so delish and the presentation was beautiful. Crystal, one of the owners and her staff were a joy to work with. This is a perfect place to hold any kind of shower, birthday party, or social get together!

Some wonderful vendors came together to make this happen for us.

First and foremost a big thank you to DJ FREEZ . I had arranged for him to help us get the bride to be to the party…for the big surprise. DJ FREEZ will be the dj at Kari and Ryan’s upcoming wedding. I contacted him and asked if he could set up a fake meeting with the bride to discuss ceremony and reception specifics when in reality she would be showing up at her shower. He was all for it and without him, it wouldn’t have been such a success. She was sooo surprised!!! She showed up with her planning papers and everything!

Stacia of Petals and Beans provided fresh flowers, in blues, the color that the bride will be using for her wedding. We used these in vases provided by Kelly Steadman of ALL Things Beautiful , that we then filled with coffee beans to add to the theme.

These were the favors. We went with black and white mugs to tie into her color scheme, which was blue, black and white. We then filled each mug with coffee and tied a tag that read, "the perfect blend" with their names and wedding date.

Renee from Designs by Renee did these favor tags for us and they pulled from the invitation that she designed as well!

The tables all had glass vases filled with coffee beans topped with various different blue flowers. On each table also was a question game that guests had to fill out to the best of their knowledge about the bride and groom. We interviewed the groom with these questions and videotaped it! The bride had to answer the same questions and hopefully they matched up. She did very well!
This is where the bride was to sit. The bridesmaids joined her on the couches on either side. On the fireplace mantel we had glass mason jars that all had coffee designs on them. The framed initials was made out of coffee beans!!

Rolled napkins tied in black and white ribbon.
The guests have arrived!!! The bride will be coming soon….
I think she was scared in this picture as we all yelled in excitement.
SURPRISE!!!!
"So the dj really isn’t here?" "No Kari…he was in on the surprise!"
The Yummy Food! Prince Street did a wonderful job and the food was so good.
Chicken Quesadillas and Grilled Flatbread.
Roast Beef on Multi-grain and Roma Italiano Panini
Casear Salad
Chicken Bacon Wraps
The desserts were amazing. My favorite was the chai cheesecake!!
The Blushing Bride…so precious!
The Maids and the the Bride.
This is the absolute perfect venue for a bridal shower, baby shower, laid back rehearsal dinner, or private party. The food is wonderful…and a plus, if you had something else in mind for food, you can bring in your own caterer. However, if you decide to go with the PSC you receive a 10% discount on your total bill. They were so accommodating with our menu requests. Thank you so much Crystal, you and your staff were amazing!
It was so important to me that Kari be surprised. You were able to make that happen and I can’t thank you enough for being so flexible and ready to get in on the fun! The wedding will be a blast with your talents and I can not wait for October!
Kelly, thank you as always, for being so gracious and wonderful! The vases were a perfect touch!
The beautiful blue flowers were a sneak peak into what the wedding flowers will consist of. I can’t wait to see the floral designs on the wedding day.
You were fabulous to work with for the the design process on the invitations and the favor tags. They were exactly what I had envisioned and the bride was so happy. She loved the invitations that went out! You were really able to capture the design elements that we implemented.

Newport, R.I.

Early Thursday morning my husband and I left to head up the coast. Every summer we head to Newport, R.I. to relax and visit with family. The weather has been absolutely amazing. A wonderful 75-80 degrees and a cool ocean breeze. I will be sad to head back to Lancaster tomorrow morning. Below are some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Yay we’re at the beach! Riley was ready to run around after the 6.5 hour car ride.
He loved the rocks.
Catch me if you can!!
Goodbye for now :(

Ahh the wedding day! What an amazing day it was. Hillary was stunning and smiling all day long. Neil was so handsome and the picturesque groom. I was so excited for this event. Hillary and Neil have been so sweet to work with and I really got to know them well. I will miss them as they make their new home in Michigan. Congratulations to you both!!

Below are some snapshots we were able to get at the ceremony. I will post professional pictures from Allan Holm when they are available. The beautiful flowers were from Jill of Floral Designs of Mt. Joy .
