Fashion Show

What a great day for fashion! Yesterday I attended a wonderful lunch and fashion show put together by Pappagallo. The show was held at the phenomenal Carr’s Restaurant.

The menu consisted of Tomato Crab Bisque or a House salad to start. Followed by Atlantic Salmon on Crossant with Watercress, asparagus, sliced tomato and a fresh herbed aioli or a wonderful house made quiche. The delightful menu ended with carrot cake and coffee. Yummm…it was so good!

Two of my favorite designers that they featured were Nicole Miller and Badgley Mischka!  Some of the dresses that the models fashioned are below:

Pappagallo offers a wonderful selection of special event dresses. Including, but not limited to, rehearsal, mother of the bride, and bridesmaid dresses. Next time you find yourself at Central Market, head down to 28 West Orange Street and find yourself at Pappagallo, Style for Living!

I’ve been tagged!

This morning I got online to update my site.  I wanted to add some more blogs to my list, that I enjoy reading, specifically Something You.

As I’m going to I Do Original’s site to get the exact address, a message appears in my blog box… I’ve been tagged!!! Well back in January and for some reason just received the message this morning. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that all of my settings had just been changed. Who knows.

So now, in addition to adding Something You to my blog list, I would like to give them credit for tagging me, and respectfully follow the rules, which are below:

The rules are:
1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 random and/or weird things about yourself.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

7 Random things about me:

1. I love love coffee!!

2. I was born in San Diego, CA

3. I have one sister, seven years younger than me, she is the best!

4. My husband and I went to high school together, but never really hung out.

5. I was a bartenderfor 9 months.

6. I love chips in my sandwhiches.

7. I was named after my dad.

These are the 7 people I am tagging: Hamilton Ballroom, Capturing the Light of Love, Coordinated Dreams, All Things Beautiful, Michelle Rago, Ltd., KM Photography, and Janell Berte.

Working with Wedding Planners

“Wedding planners are an asset for any bride who is working full-time and is planning a large-scale wedding or a destination wedding. Remember that once the wedding weekend arrives you want to be a worry-free bride. The wedding planner facilitates and becomes the liaison between all parties, including the bride and her family, the designer, the caterer, and all the vendors. The planner is the perfect partner to the bride and runs interference for her every step of the way. A wedding planner can become the bride’s eyes and ears and spare the bride and her parents the myriad of little questions that must be answered but not necessarily by them. He or she can help with travel arrangements, check deliveries, dealing with the band or other entertainment, accommodating last-minute guests at seated dinners (horror!), and just troubleshooting in general. … I say let the wedding planner figure it out, and let the bride enjoy being a bride.”

I could not have said this any better myself. Many brides, even those with a full-time job, may think that they do not need a wedding planner, however, months and even weeks before a wedding, suddenly a light bulb goes off….hmmm…who is going to line up my wedding party, who will make sure the music starts on time, who will make sure my grandparents get their corsages and boutinieres, how will the guests get in place for my grand exit from the ceremony?? You can plan for every detail, but when that day comes, you simply will not be able to orchestrate everything yourself and quite honestly no one expects you to!!

One thing to remember, a wedding planner should not be an added expense, they should be worked into the budget and ultimately help you save money and time :)

Lauren and Patrick’s Ceremony Site

Saturday I got to meet up with Lauren and Patrick to tour their ceremony site.  They plan to get married this June at this beautiful little chapel on F&M’s campus.

Their day will then be followed by a wonderful brunch at Cameron Estate Inn.

On a side note, I’ve been shopping for some of my other clients.  I found these great jumbo martini glases at a fantastic price.

Also found these great little dishes for another client that will be holding hershey kisses on the guest tables to represent the couple’s new last name!

All 70 of them, boxed up and waiting for the big day.
